Blog EntryI Wanna Go Back.....To Using Film CamerasMar 10, '08 6:40 PM
for everyone
It's like an old flame, suddenly you want back into her arms because your present partner is boring the shit out of you. Same thing goes with my choice of cameras. My digicam (or my brother's digicam that i use) is boring the wits out of me.

I want more excitement, the anticipation of what the finished image would look like to be back. You know taking shots at the right appropriate time and shooting only the best subjects and not shooting everything on sight.

I dug up some of my mom's old cameras, I saw a Vivitar camera that seems to be not working, i would have to take it to Hidalgo for some repair soon. I saw a Leica old skul SLR camera as well. Plus the ones i already bought, a Holga and a Colorsplash camera. Guess I'm ready to roll hehe.

No. I wont wage war to digital photographers out there. I still love digital photography, but its just that i want to go back to the time where i feel every shot should be perfect because you know you can't just delete it and take another shot. You know as they say there's more pressure in taking pictures using film cameras because you're only good as the number of shots in your film.

Either of these two old cameras were probably used by my mom in taking this picture of me with my friend Nicky sitting on the back of a stray cow (circa 1980's hehehe)

(im the one at the back of Nicky with Nicky's yaya)

Use Digiprint. 250 i think to develop five rolls of either 120 or 35, saved to cd with decent res, and then delivered to your door. Cant' beat it.

me too, i like the romantic side of film photography...nothing beats the joy of using film...and it is a discipline because you learn to wait and makes you think more.

i'm also a lomography enthusiast...i started with a holga 120...then this week i got myself a fisheye cam and a holga 35mm adaptor so I can use 35mm with my holga. i'm also gonna try the lomolitos when i travel to dubai soon.

just wanna share with you my entry regarding lomography:

as Slangard wrote, there are good deals here in the Philippines...5 rolls of films for about 250 pesos saved to CD and free delivery....

250 pesos should be 17-18 Malaysian Ringgits

Remember: Hunter S. Thompson and Jack Kerouac wrote their masterpieces on typewriters.

Someone should write out a program for computer that'll put out a typewriter "clack!" everytime you hit a keystroke and have that "krrrrrPLANCK!" of the return carriage when you hit enter. That'd that piss off your officemates, wouldn't it?

Hey, I'd buy it.

matagal ko nang minamata ang colorsplash cam.
meron ako kasing colorsplash flash for my lca.
sulit ba?
iyon na lang ang kulang sa lomo collection ko.

kcajcauorek wrote on Mar 13
kung may color flash na ung lca mo you dont need a colorsplash na...bumili ako ng colorsplash intead of a flash for my holga kasi 36 shots ang film ng colosplash unlike sa holga ko ung 120mm roll na tag 12 shots lng...para may options ren hehe
